Privacy Policy

Overview
CitizenBound ("we", "us") helps you practice USCIS-style immigration interviews. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can export or delete it.
Immigration case details are sensitive. We design for minimal retention and do not sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address and optional display name from signup/login (via Supabase Auth).
- Case profile: interview type, dates, and structured facts you enter or confirm during onboarding.
- Practice sessions: questions asked, scores, feedback, and (unless you opt out) answer transcripts.
- Uploaded application PDFs: processed to extract structured fields, then deleted from storage when you finish onboarding (or sooner if you delete your account).
- Technical logs: limited error and performance data via Sentry. We disable default PII collection in Sentry.
We do not store raw voice recordings. Speech is transcribed for the practice loop; only text may be retained according to your transcript preference.
How we use information
- Run practice interviews and score answers
- Personalize questions using your case facts
- Improve reliability and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests you send us
Aggregate, anonymized patterns may be used to improve the question bank. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
Service providers
We use processors to operate the product, including: Supabase (auth/database/storage), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (answer evaluation and document extraction), Deepgram (speech-to-text), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech), Sentry (error monitoring), and PostHog (product analytics). PostHog session replay is disabled; we do not send interview answers or case details as analytics properties. Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
Retention
- Transcripts: you can turn off storage in Settings. Remaining transcripts are auto-cleared after 90 days.
- Uploaded PDFs: deleted when you finish case setup; extracted structured facts remain in your case until you delete them or your account.
- Account data: kept while your account is active. Deleting your account removes profile, cases, sessions, turns, and remaining documents.
Your choices
- Export your data from Settings
- Opt out of transcript storage
- Delete your account and associated data
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Email feedback@citizenbound.com to make a request.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with our cloud providers' encryption at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to reduce risk with access controls and minimal retention.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
